I imported Babysham as a two year old, direct from her breeders the Woolleys of Littletree Stud. I had seen her as a yearling, & met her sire Guards Jester personally on a previous trip to England. Her mother Lunesdale Shamrock had also been a favorite of mine, & now resides in Canada.
Babysham is the complete Fell Pony package: correct conformation, exceptional type, a kind eye, true & balanced movement, a pedigree that proves heritable trainability, & best of all, an easy going & amiable personality. The icing on the cake is loads and loads of hair & feather, which she passes to her foals! She gets along well in the herd, and is a wonderful mentor to the younger ponies.
Her pedigree is a blend of Guards & Lunesdale, but also offers several Adamthwaite ponies, a prefix which is becoming increasingly hard to find. Her dam, Lunesdale Shamrock, is an accomplished ridden pony, being shown for many years on two continents. Babysham was her mother's only offspring for a period of 15 years.
Her sire, Guards Jester, topped his career with the coveted Supreme Championship Senior M&M In-Hand Class at the prestigious Olympia Show in the UK. Quite an honor!
Babysham has been trained to saddle, worked as an off-farm ambassador the entire summer of 2013, and took second that year in the national Fell Pony awards program (the PPA), sponsored by FPSNA, in the Ambassador Pony division.
Babysham began her foaling career for us in 2010, with the stunning filly DreamHayven Decadence, who has gone on to produce for Moonlit Fells in Washington State. Now well over a decade of foals later, we have many delighted owners of Fells across the country that have chosen a foal out of this lovely mare.
