About Us
Although the idea was there long before, it took much research and investigating before Dream Hayven Farm began officially in the spring of 2005, importing mature breeding stock.  The next year brought several more ponies to the farm, in addition to the birth of two imported in-utero fillies. Nowadays, the farm averages a dozen or more Fells at any given time.

Our goal is not to be the biggest Fell breeder, rather, we consider ourselves a "boutique" breeder. This gives us the time we need to give attention to every Fell!  We also believe it is important to promote and educate as this breed is so rare in the United States. We stay small to give ourselves the opportunity to get out in the public and show off these wonderful ponies.  We operate on 37 acres of rolling farmland, and have built our farm from the ground up, literally!
By complete coincidence, the  first Fell pony we purchased was originally bred in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Having a Scottish connection ourselves to the very same region, linking back to the Hay Clan, we wanted to combine the farm's heritage and our own.

We also feel incredibly lucky to have the opportunity to live our dreams- surrounding ourselves with these beautiful creatures; grooming, training, riding and exhibiting as stewards and ambassadors for a most unique animal!

Melissa has a degree in Equine Management, and has also been safety certified as a licensed riding instructor.  She is currently a member of the Fell Pony Society (FPS) and its affiliate in the United States, the Fell Pony Society of North America (FPSNA).  Most recently the farm became a lifetime member of NPS America.  Since 2007, Melissa has served as the Promotions Director for the FPSNA.

Both George and Melissa enjoy parades, exhibitions, carriage driving and participating in historical re-enactments.  Please contact us with questions about the farm. We’re always happy to hear from fellow pony enthusiasts.
Over the past few years, the Fell Pony has seen an increase in popularity in America, making it easier for newcomers to find out information and see Fells in person.  We feel very fortunate to have found these special ponies, and our thanks and respect go out to so many of the English breeders who have devoted their entire lives to preserving and continuing this very rare equine treasure.

The New "Video"
I'm happy to present the new slideshow produced to give a quick and exciting overview of Dream Hayven Farm.  It is divided into two sections, Part One being origins of the Fell Pony, Littletree Bodini and our mares.  Part Two is Dream Hayven foals, the farm, and of course family, a showcase of all the people and places that make the farm what it is.
